  • Configure project settings, instruction files, rules, model versions, and project memory to give Claude Code reliable, scoped context.
  • Manage context windows and long-running sessions with compact, clear, resume, fork, rewind, and token-budgeting workflows.
  • Create reusable Claude Skills and event-driven Hooks, then use plugins, scheduled runs, headless mode, and routines to automate tasks.
  • Connect Claude Code to external services with MCP, compare local and hosted servers, and work with MCP tools, resources, prompts, and discovery.
  • Design custom subagents and agent teams, delegate tasks in parallel, and coordinate agent workflows using the Agent SDK and code harness.
  • Build Claude API requests with system prompts, messages, structured outputs, streaming, images, prompt caching, and batch processing.
  • Write and refine development prompts with explicit criteria, examples, JSON formats, model selection, and adaptive thinking.
  • Protect coding workflows with permission boundaries, sandboxing, prompt-injection defenses, PII safeguards, and security hooks.
  • Analyze large codebases, plan multi-agent projects, implement and test features, and review code for design patterns, SOLID, errors, and resilience.
  • Use Claude Code to build, document, test, and prepare full-stack projects for delivery while tracking project state and external API workflows.

Requirements

  • No prior Claude Code experience is required; the course begins with setup, authentication, and your first session.
  • Use a computer with a reliable internet connection and access to a terminal; familiarity with Windows, macOS, or Linux is helpful.
  • Basic programming or command-line familiarity is helpful for codebase, API, and project demonstrations, but is not required for the foundations.

Description

BUILD RELIABLE AI-ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT WORKFLOWS WITH CLAUDE CODE

Claude Code can help developers understand codebases, plan changes, work with tools, and carry out multi-step software tasks. In this course, you will learn how to guide that work with clear instructions, useful project context, appropriate permissions, external integrations, and careful review.

BUILD RELIABLE AI-ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT WORKFLOWS WITH CLAUDE CODE

• Set up Claude Code and work with it from a terminal, an IDE, or a virtual machine.
• Use commands, Plan Mode, permissions, and project instructions to guide coding tasks.
• Manage context and sessions so longer tasks stay focused and useful.
• Connect external systems through MCP and create reusable Skills and Hooks.
• Coordinate agents and subagents while controlling task scope and tool access.
• Apply API, prompt-engineering, security, testing, and code-review practices.
• Build and review practical software workflows from planning through delivery.

A structured path from your first Claude Code session to integrated development workflows.

COURSE ROADMAP

Section 1 — Claude Code Foundations & Installation
Understand agentic coding and the code harness, prepare your development environment, install and authenticate Claude Code, and start a session from the command line, an IDE, or an Ubuntu virtual machine.

Section 2 — Commands, Context Controls & Plan Mode
Learn how to use essential commands, plan work before implementation, select permission modes, manage context, and make informed choices while Claude Code carries out a task.

Section 3 — Project Rules, Memory & Configuration
Organize project instructions, reusable rules, settings, and model choices so Claude Code has relevant guidance for the work at hand.

Section 4 — Context & Session Engineering
Explore context windows, token use, context rot, session history, and ways to preserve useful information across longer development tasks.

Section 5 — Skills, Hooks & Reusable Workflows
Create reusable Skills and event-driven Hooks that support repeatable workflows, automate selected actions, and apply safeguards at key points.

Section 6 — MCP: Connecting Claude to External Systems
Connect Claude Code to external services through MCP. Compare local and hosted servers, explore tools, resources, prompts, and discovery, and build a custom MCP server. Examples include connecting to Gmail through MCP.

Section 7 — Agents, Subagents & Multi-Agent Systems
Learn how agents and specialized subagents can investigate or complete parts of a task. Explore parallel work and coordination patterns, and consider how to define responsibilities and review delegated results.

Section 8 — Plugins, Scheduling & Autonomous Claude
Explore plugins, scheduled tasks, headless operation, and routines. Learn how these capabilities support repeatable or automated work, and consider the controls needed when tasks run with less direct interaction.

Section 9 — Claude API, LLM Fundamentals & Prompt Engineering
Build a foundation in language models, tokens, API requests, and prompt design. Explore structured outputs, streaming, image inputs, caching, batch processing, and cost considerations.

Section 10 — Security, Guardrails & Agent Tools
Consider prompt-injection risks, privacy, permissions, sandboxing, authentication, authorization, and tool design. Learn how to set boundaries that help protect development workflows and the data they may access.

Section 11 — Professional Claude Code Development Workflow
Apply Claude Code to larger codebases and real development processes. Work with project state, environments, APIs, planning, testing, and troubleshooting while keeping changes organized and reviewable.

Section 12 — Applied Claude Code Projects & Delivery
Bring the techniques together in practical project work: examine requirements, plan features, coordinate agents, and develop a full-stack authentication application. Practice checking the result and preparing work for delivery.

Section 13 — Code Review, Quality & Resilience
Review design patterns and SOLID principles, trace error handling, assess resilience, and identify duplication and readability issues. Use these checks to evaluate and improve the quality of AI-assisted code.

HOW THE COURSE CONNECTS THE TOPICS

The course moves from setup and individual coding tasks toward integrated workflows. You will first learn to provide Claude Code with a clear task and relevant project context. You will then add reusable instructions, Skills, Hooks, MCP integrations, and agents as the work requires them. Finally, you will apply security boundaries, testing, and code review to check the results.

Practical examples connect the topics to software development situations: connecting to Gmail through MCP, building a custom MCP server, coordinating agents, examining project requirements, planning application features, and developing a full-stack authentication example. You will also work through API-related tasks, documentation and testing considerations, and code-quality reviews.

The goal is not to accept every generated change automatically. You will practice breaking work into manageable tasks, reviewing proposed edits, testing behavior, and improving instructions when results miss the requirements. These habits help you use AI-assisted development while keeping engineering decisions and responsibility for quality in your hands.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?
