Why C&B work takes months
A grading project used to mean consultants, a two-day training and a long bill. Market pricing meant three surveys that do not match each other. A salary review meant a spreadsheet with a thousand rows and a week of checking formulas. Most of this work is structured thinking over data, and this is what an AI assistant does well, if it has the method, the data and the checks.
What changes after this course
You have a Claude Project that knows your job architecture. You evaluate a job by the Hay method in minutes and can explain the result. You build ranges from market data and see who is outside them. You model three budget scenarios before the meeting with the CFO. Each employee gets a statement that shows the whole package. And the data you load is anonymized by a checklist.

Who is teaching
I am Mike, the #1 HR instructor on Udemy, with 1,800,000+ course enrollments from 170,000 students, and the author of about 200 books on Amazon. I built the people system at Preply as it became a unicorn and worked at Wargaming, iDeals and Alfa-Bank across 20 years in HR. I hold PHRi, SHRM-CP and HCI sHRBP certifications and represent HRCI in Eastern Europe.
I did this work by hand. At the STB TV channel I ran compensation and benefits: I introduced grading, planned the payroll budget and salary reviews, built the bonus system and started market reviews. When we wanted to put the jobs in order, hiring the Hay company was too expensive. It was after the crisis of 2008 and 2009, and consultants who had worked there were on the market. They gave us a two-day training and some advice on how to evaluate a job, and we evaluated our jobs by that method ourselves. Even so we paid about 10 thousand dollars. Today the same first draft takes an evening with a prepared assistant.
