Requirements

  • Basic computer literacy and comfort using a command line. No prior hacking or Linux experience required — we start from installation. A laptop that can run a virtual machine (4GB+ RAM recommended) is helpful but not mandatory.

Description

Kali Linux is the industry-standard operating system for penetration testing and ethical hacking — and this course takes you from complete beginner to confidently running real-world security assessments.

You’ll start with the fundamentals: installing and configuring Kali Linux (as a VM or dual-boot), understanding the Linux file system, and mastering essential command-line skills. From there, we move into the core of ethical hacking: network scanning and enumeration with Nmap, vulnerability identification, and exploitation using Metasploit and other industry-standard tools.

You’ll get hands-on practice with password attacks using John the Ripper and Hydra, wireless network auditing with Aircrack-ng, web application testing against common vulnerabilities like SQL injection and XSS, and traffic analysis with Wireshark. We’ll also cover network sniffing, man-in-the-middle attacks, post-exploitation techniques, and an introduction to digital forensics.

Every section is built around practical, lab-based exercises in a safe, legal environment using intentionally vulnerable machines, so you learn by doing rather than just watching. By the end of this course, you’ll understand how attackers think and operate — knowledge that’s foundational whether you’re pursuing a career in penetration testing, security analysis, or IT administration.

This course also lays the groundwork for certifications like CompTIA PenTest+, Security+, and eventually the OSCP. All techniques are taught strictly for authorized, ethical use in controlled lab environments.

Who this course is for:

  • Aspiring ethical hackers, IT professionals moving into security, students preparing for certifications like CompTIA Security+ or PenTest+, and anyone curious about how penetration testing actually works. Not intended for those seeking help with illegal or unauthorized system access
