Why executive search is a different job
Senior executives do not answer job ads. They are rarely looking, they have options, and one careless message closes the door. The hiring manager expects a mapped market, a reasoned shortlist and a clear picture of each finalist, not a pile of profiles. A recruiter who works the usual way loses both the candidate and the client.
What changes after this course
You take a job order so that the search has clear criteria. You map target companies and know who sits where. You find contact details and write a first message a busy executive will answer. You run structured interviews and compare finalists on evidence. You bring the offer to acceptance and prepare the candidate for a counteroffer. And you can show the client the work behind your fee.

Who is teaching
I am Mike, the #1 HR instructor on Udemy, with 1,800,000+ course enrollments from 170,000 students, and the author of about 200 books on Amazon. I built the people system at Preply as it became a unicorn and worked at Wargaming, iDeals and Alfa-Bank across 20 years in HR. I hold PHRi, SHRM-CP and HCI sHRBP certifications and represent HRCI in Eastern Europe.
I first met real executive search as a client, at the TV channel STB, when we were looking for a head of the news service. The consultant did not come with a list of candidates. She spoke as if she had a file on each person: who really makes the decisions in a newsroom, who is unhappy and on what terms they would move. It was detective work. The global firms that pitched to us quoted a 35 percent fee and a minimum of 50,000 dollars per search, and behind that fee stood a team: a lead consultant, a researcher, a sourcer and a certified assessor. This course shows that work from the inside.
