Course content

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience administering Linux servers is strongly recommended.
  • Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes or Slurm will help you with most scenarios.
  • A basic understanding of GPU computing is helpful. The associate-level NCA-AIIO material is a good foundation.
  • Experience with Base Command Manager, Run:ai, or BlueField DPUs is useful but not required. The explanations fill in the gaps.
  • Most of all, you need a methodical mindset and a willingness to understand why each step comes where it does.

Description

Prepare for the NVIDIA-Certified Professional: AI Operations (NCP-AIO) exam with practical, scenario-based questions

These NCP-AIO practice tests are for engineers who keep GPU clusters running day to day and want to earn the NVIDIA-Certified Professional: AI Operations credential. NCP-AII is about building the cluster. NCP-AIO is about operating it: provisioning nodes, administering Slurm and Kubernetes, scheduling and sharing GPUs across teams, and finding the root cause when jobs slow down or fail. This course gives you realistic operations scenarios so you can practice making those decisions.

Why this course

NCP-AIO rewards platform-specific operational judgment. A general Linux fix is often not the right answer on an NVIDIA-managed cluster. Each question puts you in a situation like these:

  • A new node won’t join Base Command Manager.

  • A team needs a fair share of scarce GPUs.

  • Containers can’t see their GPUs after an upgrade.

You then choose the best next step. All questions are original, aligned with the current exam blueprint, and updated as NVIDIA’s software stack and the exam change.

What’s inside, by exam domain

  • Installation and deployment: installing and configuring Base Command Manager and Base View, provisioning nodes, deploying Slurm and Kubernetes clusters, setting up the GPU Operator, Network Operator, and Container Toolkit, deploying BlueField DPUs with DOCA, and pulling NGC containers

  • Administration: managing Slurm and Kubernetes clusters, administering Fleet Command for edge deployments, managing users, images, and software updates, and using system management tools to keep the environment healthy

  • Workload management: scheduling and prioritizing AI jobs, GPU orchestration with Run:ai, sharing GPUs with Multi-Instance GPU and time-slicing, and allocating resources fairly across teams and projects

  • Troubleshooting and optimization: diagnosing GPU, container, and scheduler problems, using DCGM diagnostics and telemetry, fixing storage and network bottlenecks, and tuning cluster performance

How the explanations help you learn

Every question includes a detailed explanation for every answer option. You learn why the correct action fits the scenario and why each of the other actions doesn’t. A wrong option might be the wrong tool, a step in the wrong order, or a fix that hides the symptom instead of solving the cause. This builds the troubleshooting discipline that the exam rewards and that production AI clusters need.

Who it’s for

  • Site reliability engineers, system administrators, MLOps engineers, and platform engineers who run GPU clusters in production

  • NCA-AIIO holders who want to advance to professional-level AI operations
